We are now accepting applications for the vacancy of Bilingual School Liaison for the 2022-2023 school year. 

Position:
Full Time, 8 Hours per day, 190 days

Qualifications:
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Does interact with District, schools, parents, and English learners as appropriate, to meet the needs of all English learners.
Ability to maintain flexible hours required (available some evenings) to be able to attend meetings.
Working knowledge of community organizations, community resources, and public services available for families of English learners.
Ability in the proper use of English grammar, spelling, punctuation and speaking.  Ability in the proper use of Second Language grammar, spelling, punctuation and speaking.
Demonstrated proficiency in the appropriate Second Language.  Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

General Description:  
Guided by the requirements of Title III, the Ohio English Language Proficiency (ELP) Standards, the district Strategic Plan, Equity Plan and Academic Achievement Plan, and the district’s vision, mission, and goals, the Bilingual School Community Liaison will provide support for the school community (students, parents, teachers, staff, administration and community stakeholders) related to the programs and activities that contribute to the achievement of English learners. This position requires continuous use of independent judgment. Bilingual School Community Liaison will maintain contact with and facilitate communication between staff and parents of English learners. Set up and build bilingual parent support groups in collaboration with the District Bilingual Parent Liaison, school administration and the Director of Communications. Utilizing bilingual abilities, involve family and others in development of academic goals and objectives, which reflect their child’s educational needs. Coordinate evening school bilingual, activities to improve bilingual parent access and bilingual educational support. The essential functions as shown below represent only the key areas of responsibility; specific position requirements will vary depending on the needs of the school.

Special Knowledge and/or Skills Required:  
      Associate’s or equivalent, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
      Three or more years of ESL program experience.
      Bilingual

Compensation: 
Salary based on experience to be established by the Board of Education and will include full benefits.
