Assistant Principal

Finneytown Secondary Campus

Successful candidate, under the direction of the Principal, will provide leadership for the Finneytown Secondary Campus (grades 6-12) by facilitating learning opportunities and experiences for all students, by communicating with all stockholders to support programs, and by completing administrative duties required by policy and law.  Leadership includes, but is not limited to, assisting the Principal in articulating a clear vision and supervision and evaluation of personnel, curriculum, school, community activities, and building and grounds.


Potential candidates should possess the following:

❏      Passion for a pursuit of equity in a public education setting so all students are able to succeed both in and out of the classroom

❏      Steadfast commitment to restorative practices to build and maintain a positive school culture

❏      Belief in an inclusive model of education driven by co-planning and co-serving all students

❏      Desire to join a grassroots group of pioneers in our movement from a traditional education model to one suited for the 21st century

❏      Eager to facilitate instructional risks through innovation to improve student learning

❏      Appetite for teammates who seek and embrace constructive criticism through regular peer-to-peer classroom observations, teacher-based team meetings, and participation in our professional learning communities

❏      Hunger for a collective mindset that defaults to “yes” over “no” and a framework for thinking that centers on “What’s possible?” instead of “What’s wrong?”



❖      Bachelor’s or Master’s degree

❖      A valid Principal license issued by the Ohio Department of Education

❖      Belief that all students can learn and grow in an inclusive learning environment

❖      Effective verbal and written communication skills required to handle problem situations in a tactful, courteous and respectful manner

❖      Analytical ability needed to address a variety of concerns in a timely manner

❖      Such alternatives to these qualifications as the district may find appropriate and acceptable

❖      Satisfactory BCI and FBI background checks
