School Secretary

Finneytown Elementary

Successful candidate will provide support for the administrative staff of Finneytown Elementary.


·        High School diploma or equivalent

·        Technology skills applicable to an office environment

·        Excellent communication skills

·        Demonstrated ability to manage regular office routines

·        Satisfactory BCI and FBI criminal background checks

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (All may not apply, depending on specific assignment):

1.    Maintain student cumulative records to monitor student progress.

2.    Compose, read, file, record and route incoming mail and/or messages for the purpose of effective communication within the building.

3.    Prepare outgoing notices and bulletins needed to maintain communications within the community.

4.    Assist with preparation of student handbook, maintaining current information for the school year.

5.    Provide clerical support to the principal and staff to ensure effective operations within the office.

6.    Greet and direct visitors to appropriate locations in order to provide appropriate public relations.

7.    Compile data and prepare statistical reports in order to provide accurate information for the school.

8.    Maintain payroll records of teachers’ attendance and process payroll information for educational support staff for the purpose of payroll continuity.

9.    Keep records and disseminate information as needed regarding student fees.

10.  Maintain school activity calendar and process.

11.  Maintain school inventory; manage requisitions; issue requests for equipment maintenance.

12.  Maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding student and staff information in order to remain in compliance with legal requirements and to maintain a professional work environment.

13.  Perform other duties as assigned in order to ensure the efficient functioning of the work unit.

A 220 day contract will be issued for this position.  Daily hours, to be determined at a later date, will include 7.5 paid hours and ½ hour unpaid lunch.

Compensation will be in accordance with the F.A.S.P. Master Negotiated Agreement, currently $16.63 – $20.40 per hour, based on experience.
