Who are we?
The Mesivta of Cincinnati, a new Jewish Yeshiva high school opening this fall, was founded to provide students with a superior education in the heart of Cincinnati’s flourishing Torah Jewish community. The school will offer the serious learner the best possible educational, social and emotional Yeshiva experience in a warm Torah environment – combining Cincinnati’s unique, caring and nurturing community with a high level of learning and great academic standards. We offer a warm, student-centered environment in which our students will enjoy a rigorous dual curriculum of Judaic and General Studies as well as strong extracurricular sessions and events. We see every student as possessing great potential, and we aim to inspire as well as to educate.
Position Summary
Mesivta of Cincinnati is seeking a qualified, part-time mathematics teacher for the 2022-23 school year. The ideal candidate will teach one class of 11th grade Algebra II/Trigonometry, Monday-Thursday. Scheduling is flexible with class options ranging from 2:30pm-6:30pm. Salary for this position will range from $9,000-$15,000 depending on experience.
Requirements
Ideal candidates will
- Have a Bachelor’s Degree in secondary education, math or a related field
- Be able to organize units and engaging lessons based on Ohio’s state standards for high school mathematics
- Maintain an organized gradebook and take daily attendance
- Maintain classroom management and discipline consistent with school policies
- Communicate with students, staff and parents effectively
- Work cooperatively with staff and Rabbis to ensure our students are getting the most out of each day.
- Work well in a small classroom environment of around 8 students.
- Be able to pass an FBI and BCI background check
- Teaching license preferred but not required
- A strong familiarity with Ohio or national standards for mathematics preferred by not required.
