As the Accountant with St. Xavier High School, you will assist in establishing a new endowment fund procedure, record and maintain each fund’s share of the invested endowment pool, review open tuition receivable accounts, including collection efforts and provide recommendations to the CFO for accounts to be reserved or written off.
 
In addition, you will perform responsibilities such as:

• Prepares, maintains, and reconciles fundraising activities to the general ledger.
• Transfers cash between funds and posts related journal entries.
• Resolves issues that may span multiple areas.
• Assists controller with fund accounting year-end closure process.
• Recommends proper accounting for new restricted gifts.
• Provides Advancement Office with restricted spending reports as necessary.
• Prepares reconciliations and other supporting documents for annual audit.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related highly preferred.
• Five years’ Accounting experience.
• Experience with Accounting Software (SAGE).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel.
• Previous fund accounting experience preferred.
• Not for Profit Accounting Experience.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
