Extended School Year (ESY) Teachers Mild/Moderate and Moderate/Intense

Job Focus:  To support the district’s implementation of instructional programs for children with educational disabilities who qualify for Extended School Year Programming (ESY).

Essential Duties:

Collaborate with student’s special education teacher(s) in preparation for delivery of ESY services
Supplement instructional materials as needed to support student engagement and progress
Demonstrate prompt and regular attendance
Develop and implement lesson plans
Provide daily instruction in appropriate curriculum to students with disabilities
Progress monitor student IEP goals and objectives as indicated in ESY plan
Maintain accurate and complete records or required paperwork and submit in a timely manner (i.e. progress reports, data collection, communication logs, etc.)
Attend meetings as required
Maintain prompt and professional communication with parents, Office of Student Services staff, and other ESY summer programming staff
Direct the instructional and non-instructional support from adult educational assistants as needed for students
Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect supplies, equipment, materials, and facilities needed to implement effective instructional programming
Meet and instruct students in accordance with their established IEP
Employ a variety of instructional techniques which are appropriate to the achievement of student IEP goals and objectives
Maintain confidentiality about students in accordance with state and federal law, as well as district policy
Perform other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator

Format of services could include the following:

Individual or small group sessions with students
Small group within structured classroom setting (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays only)
 Dates of services could include the following (dates subject to change):

Kindergarten – 8th-grade services provided during summer school June 14-July 16
9th – 12th-grade services provided during summer school June 14-July 23
Individual or small group sessions scheduled between provider and parent June 10th – August 20th 
 Qualifications:

Hold current and valid teaching or related therapist license
Certification

moderate/intense
appropriate related services certification
