Position: Associate to Treasurer – Accounts Payable (Exempt)
Reports to: Treasurer
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma with training and experience in data entry or accounts payable processing required. Associate Degree in Accounting/Business a plus.
Schedule: 260-day position – 8 hours per day
Assists the Treasurer by the accurate and efficient processing of accounts payable transactions
and answers questions and respond to staff inquiries as to accounts payable related questions by
performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Processes/disburses purchase orders.
Inputs treasurer’s office and technology department’s purchase requisitions.
Collects/maintains/processes information for timely and accurate payment of invoices. Processes accounts payable checks.
Maintains accounts payable files.
Maintains vendor list/forms processing.
Trains and supports building personnel with purchasing process.
Inputs purchase requisitions for community recreation, miscellaneous state and federal grants, i.e. auxiliary, career education, as assigned.
Serves as liaison for non-public schools’ Auxiliary Services clerks.
Maintains tracking process for administrative memberships, etc. including processing of purchase requisitions.
Oversees tuition and mileage reimbursement processes.
Oversees access for web-based ordering/payment.
Maintains information for 1099 processing.
Maintains data for the GAAP conversion.
Assists Treasurer with processing of Board of Education meeting minutes.
Works with building personnel/administration and vendors to resolve accounts payable issues.
Handles inquiries from district employees regarding a wide variety of accounts payable issues.
Carries out assignments in a professional manner and maintains a high standard of due professional care in all work performed.
Other related work as assigned by the Treasurer or designee
Assumes responsibility of maintaining up to date knowledge of technology utilized by the district.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma with training and experience in data entry or accounts payable processing
required. Associate degree in accounting/business a plus. At least two years of experience
working in a public school Treasurer’s office in Ohio preferred. Understanding/knowledge of
and experience using PC and desktop applications and competency (e.g., Google Apps, Microsoft
Office, etc.) Skilled at operating general office equipment. To be self motivated with an
attention to detail. Ability to work with confidential information. To have a customer service
attitude with an ability to work with people in difficult situations. Ability to work cooperatively
with others and to take instruction. Such alternative to the above qualifications as the Board may
find appropriate and acceptable.
Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, colleagues and administration. Ability
to read and interpret documents such as reference manuals, Board policies and procedures
manuals. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints
from students, parents, agencies, teachers or members of the school community. Ability to
effectively present information to administration, staff, public groups, and/or Board of Education.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory based on school objectives. Ability to
establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, peers, parents and
community. Ability to speak clearly and concisely in written or oral communication. Ability to
perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
