Starting salary range, determined by formula accounting for years of experience: $35,815.00 (no similar experience) to $49,400.00 (10 years’ experience performing this same job or job with primarily the same duties.)

2nd Shift Custodian
A typical day in the life of a 2nd shift Custodian at Margaret B. Rost School includes communicating with 1st shift staff on pertinent information upon arrival, checking on proper cleaning materials needed for the day, and beginning with garbage collection from front office, Early Intervention wing, and unoccupied rooms. You will vacuum carpeted rooms and all throw rugs throughout the building, dust mop and wet mop all 15 classrooms in the building, sanitize all bathrooms and changing rooms in the building, as well as wipe down glass on doors, touch pads, and counters regularly. You will play an integral role in ensuring a clean, bright environment for our students.
Job Duties (Summary):
Performs a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled tasks to ensure the cleanliness and safety of building and grounds (e.g., sweeps, dusts, wet mops, vacuums, strips, scrubs, waxes floors; dusts furniture; restocks restroom supplies; shampoos carpets; empties trash; washes walls, windows, doors, woodwork, and mirrors; shovels snow; moves furniture; replaces ceiling tile; replaces light bulbs; mows lawn; trims bushes and shrubs; pulls weeds, etc.).
Operates necessary equipment, (vacuum cleaner, buffer scrubber and snow blower, etc) in order to accomplish custodial tasks; utilizes dust cloths, pails, brooms, and cleaning agents.
Reports all maintenance problems to supervisor.
Runs errands as directed.
Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance; demonstrates a sense of teamwork and cooperation.
Performs other related duties as required or assigned.
Requirements (Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification):
High school Diploma or GED
Six months of semi-skilled custodial experience or equivalent
Demonstrable ability to perform moderate to heavy physical labor over extended periods of time under adverse weather conditions
Ability to get to work as scheduled or upon request due to unexpected situations and able to meet agency driver’s insurability requirements preferred
