Sycamore Community Schools/E.H. Greene Intermediate School
The Media Center Technical Assistant will support the Media Center Specialist in maintaining a well organized, efficiently functioning media center. The assistant will support the daily operations of the media center, including material circulation, hardware, software and general technical support to staff and students.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Engage with students in a professional and positive manner
Troubleshoot low to moderate level IT issues for staff and students
Provide student and staff device break fix
Oversee the student technology leaders support program in the building
Organize and manage student technology device distribution and collection
Assist with troubleshooting student device technical issues ie. testing days
Coordinate with Technology Department for resolution of higher level technology issues
Process the borrowing and returning of library books and other media center resources and manage possible kiosk for circulation desk needs
Prepare and maintain appropriate records, reports and other documents as applicable
Maintain and enforce safe, consistent and established rules for all students. Will engage the Assistant Principal when students are not appropriately following rules
Participate in training programs as required or needed
Assume responsibility of maintaining up to date knowledge of technology utilized by the district
Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Principal

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Educational Aide Permit from the Ohio Department of Education.
Ability to pass a background check.
Ability to multitask; ability to communicate and connect with teens; ability to diagnose and solve
Aptitude to perform the above duties with appropriate training.
IT experience in business or education field preferred.
Ability to create processes and procedures as it relates to the managing.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read, write and comprehend simple directions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, colleagues and administration. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from students, parents, agencies, teachers or members of the school community. Ability to effectively
present information in one-on-one and small group situations to staff, students and administrators.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must possess basic skills in reading, writing and math for the purpose of inventory and record keeping. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations that may arise. Ability to maintain composure under stressful conditions. Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community. Ability to perform duties with
awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
