Job Goals:
 
 
Provide educational instruction in all assigned academic subjects, as well as, in daily living and social skills.
Prepare instructional materials to meet each student’s individual needs taking into consideration their level of ability and interests based upon educational documentation obtained showing their current academic performance.
Use positive behavior supports in the classroom to encourage student achievement and will evaluate and track academic/behavioral progress for each student!
Prepare and maintain school records and staffing reports.
Experience working with children on IEP’s, special education, modifying curriculum, working with an instructional and support team and conferencing with parents.
Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and communication skills.
High energy and commitment to student success and professional development.
Strong instructional and technical skills.
Attend IEP meetings on each student when needed.
Comply with Quality Assurance practices.
Perform consistently as a team member and contributes to a positive work environment.
Design each student’s academic program and behavior goals in accordance with the overall treatment plan.
Keep informed and expand one’s personal knowledge base in regards to research-based and best practices.
Use formal and informal assessment strategies to manage student learning and monitor progress.
Utilize the in-service training opportunities offered by the organization.
Experience implementing educational programming for special needs students.
The staff member will be aware that his or her own physical and verbal behavior impacts the client population either positively or negatively and will act accordingly.
 
Position Requirements:
 
Master’s degree in Education preferred, would consider Bachelor’s Degree.
License Teacher in Elementary or Middle School Education
Minimum 3 years Education teaching experience required.
Working with special education population with behavioral challenges required.
Must be 21 years of age or older.
Must achieve and maintain Teaching Family Model Certification.
Implement and adhere to the principles and philosophies of the Teaching Family Model.
Must pass Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Training which requires mastery of de-escalation techniques, crisis prevention and physical restraint techniques used on youth and adolescents.
