Position Requirements:
Individual must be a Registered Nurse from an accredited school and must be licensed by the State of Ohio, with 1-2 years nursing experience serving emotionally disturbed children and adults in a psychiatric treatment setting.
Work in a clinic or ambulatory physician practice preferred.
Prior management experience preferred.   
The Nursing Supervisor must maintain and renew his/her license to provide services at St. Aloysius Orphanage.
 
Job Goals:
Coordinate staffing for both counties.
Provides coverage at both county locations weekly.
Documents any unusual incident involving medications taking or side effects including missing more than one dose.
Communicates with outside agency nurses to ensure quality of care and improve relationships.
Collaborates with the client’s case manager/therapist at the time of discharge to ensure proper medication supply (at least one month) is available and that medication orders are properly communicated (verbally and in writing) to the child’s guardian/family members and the adult clients.
Understands rules governing confidentiality and duty to report any threat to harm, abuse, or neglect issues. 
Responsible for monitoring med-somatic billing hours.
Provides direct billable service as directed by the Administrative Director of Clinical Services.
Ensures all documentation including nursing assessment and treatment plans are up to date an accurate. 
Completes Performance Reviews on all Staff to include Introductory and Annual reviews in a timely manner.
Assures compliance with productivity standards set by the Agency for the Nursing Staff.
Assures staffing levels support the volume of patients in each nursing area.
Assists with preparation for the Accreditation Process for the Agency.
Attends clinical and management meetings as required.
The Nursing Supervisor is responsible for maintaining the medical records in accordance with ODMH Standards.
The Nursing Supervisor is responsible for supervision and /or administrations of all medications administered at St. Aloysius.
The nursing team is responsible for setting up and dispensing medications to the clients at St. Aloysius.  The team is also responsible for following established medical practice regarding medication administration, via logs, charts, standing orders, progress notes and other records which are scrutinized by the Ohio Department of Human Services, and an internal Quality Assurance process.  In addition, the Nursing Team follows standards set by the Ohio State Board of Nursing. 
The Nursing Supervisor constantly interprets medical policy and procedures to all treatment staff in school, Partial Hospitalization and Med Som Clinics.  The Nursing Supervisor explains pre and post testing and lab procedures not only to the client, but to the treatment staff as needed.  Often these requests must be prioritized very quickly because the demand for information is multiple and immediate.  In cooperation with the treatment team, the Nursing Supervisor monitors and records any reactions to medication which are reported to and interpreted by the psychiatrist. 
Individual must pass Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Training which requires mastery of de-escalation techniques, crisis prevention and physical restraint techniques used on youth and adolescents.
