Position Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field.
Extensive knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws.
Minimum three to five years of experience in benefits administration or related field.
HRCI PHR Certification and/ or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) preferred.
Demonstrated skills in written and verbal communication.
Excellent customer service skills.
Excellent organizational, time management and coordination of data and activities skills.
Demonstrated skills in working cooperatively with individuals at all levels with respect and diplomacy.
Demonstrated skills with HRIS System
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Demonstrated data entry experience.
Excellent team skills, unquestioned integrity, and the experience, confidence and presence to effectively handle interpersonal relationships and sensitive HR issues.
Job Goals:
Oversight of new hire processing for employment, i.e. – scheduling of background check, fingerprinting, completion of all required employment paperwork (federal and state tax, I-9, direct deposit, confidentiality, etc.)
Administer various employee benefits programs, such as group health, flexible spending accounts, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, 403(b), and wellness benefits.
Conduct new hire benefits orientations and explain agency benefit offerings. 
Create new hire benefit enrollment paperwork to provide to payroll.
Maintain employee benefits filing systems and ensure benefit enrollments/terminations are entered appropriately into provider portals and communicate benefit enrollment changes to providers and payroll.
Assist employees with health, dental, life and other related benefit questions, ensure distribution of required employee notices
Verify and reconcile the calculation of the monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies. Resolve administrative problems with the carrier representatives.
Provide required COBRA notification paperwork to COBRA administrator and manage ad hoc requests for information to ensure government compliance.
Complete benefits census/survey reporting requirements.
Provide assistance to the Managing Director of HR in obtainment of statistics and information as part of the renewal process of any health, life and retirement plans that benefit the company.
Provide assistance to the Managing Director HR with administration of the annual benefits open enrollment process.
Provides leadership for the agency’s Wellness Program and oversees the Wellness Committee.
Develops promotion and publicity plans for the agency’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
Coordinates, plans, and facilitates health and wellness activities and programs for staff.
Plans and implements EAP/Wellness speakers, seminars, that promote wellness and healthy lifestyles.
Prepare and set up meetings designed to help employees obtain information and understand company benefits and other related incentive programs. Ensure distribution of required employee notices.
Prepare and maintain monthly employee reports, new-hire and termination reports and other requested reports as needed.
