Qualifications:

      
Valid Licensure by the Ohio Department of Education in:  Intervention Specialist
Experience with co-teaching is preferred
Transition to Work endorsement is preferred
Adheres to the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators
Maintains a record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.  Able to successfully pass a BCI/FBI background check after job offer is made.
Maintains compliance with Board policies and other applicable procedures/guidelines
Adheres to the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators

Must pass a criminal background check
Hold a valid Ohio Driver’s License
 
General Job Description:

 
The Intervention Specialist will assume responsibility for the delivery of quality educational experiences for the students enrolled in the Warren County Career Center.  The Intervention Specialist will follow the approved content standards from the Ohio Department of Education and utilize current instructional strategies to communicate the content so that learning occurs and students are able to earn various industry credentials associated with the program.  The Intervention Specialist will model professional behaviors, language and activities that will contribute to students’ development as mature, responsible citizens and members of the workforce.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Provide modifications, accommodations and differentiated instruction needed to maximize the learning experience for students with special needs
Use appropriate assessment tools and evaluation instruments to evaluate student progress toward IEP goals and objectives. Administer or monitor district and state wide tests with efficacy and integrity.
Communicate and/or collaborate with parents, professional staff and agencies regarding academic and behavior progress of each student as needed
Follow all policies and procedures for the provision of special education as established by the Ohio Department of Education and Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)
Write, maintain and update student’s IEP
Performs other duties as assigned
                             
Reports to:                     Mrs. Kendra Murphy, Assistant Director of Secondary Education
Starting date:                 2021-2022 school year
 
Salary:
Appropriate placement on the Certified Staff Salary Schedule to be determined by education and experience in the various sectors of the business field.  For School Year 2021-2022 this would be:  $43,552-$70,424.  Base contract is:  185 days; 7.5 hour workday.  One-year contract with opportunity for renewal.
