Assistant Supervisor of Benefits and Finance
Salary:
$70,913.88 – $96,996.82 – Based on experience
Location/Hours:
Northwest Local School District Administrative Office – Treasurer’s Office (remote possibility) – 8.0 hours per day
The Northwest Local School District is seeking a Benefits/Accounting professional for the position of Assistant Supervisor of Benefits/Accounting. The position reports directly to the Payroll Supervisor and is responsible for maintaining and processing all district benefit programs and employee benefit records in compliance with Local, State and Federal laws, regulations and guidelines. Preparing salary, deduction and benefit budgets, as well as any personnel budgetary modifications. Perform payroll, benefits and accounting functions on a large organizational scale. Communicate benefit activities with other district departments, school sites and personnel and vendors. Receive and respond to benefit inquiries in oral or written communication with employees and outside agencies. Must be able to do various accounting and payroll journal entries; should be able to set up reports and answer questions in regards to labor and benefits; analyze financial transactions and data to ensure accuracy of postings use of funds and trends and future forecasted amounts. Prepare and distribute correspondence of a confidential, routine, legal and statistical nature. Process, reconcile and generate related transactions including but not limited to payroll, benefits, Medicare, Workman’s Compensation, Public Retirement, tax shelter and insurance benefits for financial posting for accurate and timely processing of benefits. Inform, communicate and maintain information in compliance with Workman’s Compensation, FMLA, COBRA and Affordable Care Act, etc. Manage and assist district employees with proper enrollment and annual open enrollment procedures for all benefits.
The ideal candidate must be willing to participate and collaborate with District Leadership team members, including leading any health and wellness initiatives. Must have previous benefits experience, advanced excel, excellent analytical skills, be an effective communicator. Must have ability to multi task and be detail oriented. Should have a good understanding of ACA, FMLA, ADA, etc. School experience will be helpful. Must demonstrate effective problem-solving skills, including research capabilities. Also must be able to work independently and willingness to work remotely.
The position is salaried with a 247 day contract, working year round. Work calendar includes spring and winter breaks, and holidays. Qualifies for vacation, sick and personal leave accumulated monthly.
Placement on the salary scale is based on experience and qualifications.
