WHO ARE WE?:

The Mesivta of Cincinnati, a new Jewish Yeshiva high school opening this fall, was founded to provide students with a superior education in the heart of Cincinnati’s flourishing Torah Jewish community.  The school will offer the serious learner the best possible educational, social and emotional Yeshiva experience in a warm Torah environment – combining Cincinnati’s unique, caring and nurturing community with a high level of learning and great academic standards.  We offer a warm, student-centered environment in which our students will enjoy a rigorous dual curriculum of Judaic and General Studies as well as strong extracurricular sessions and events. We see every student as possessing great potential, and we aim to inspire as well as to educate.

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are looking for dynamic and experienced general studies teachers for the 2021-22 school year, including all four general studies classes:  English, Math, Science, and History/Social Studies.  We anticipate to structure four – forty minute periods, one subject per period, between the hours of 2:30 and 6:30 in the afternoon, Monday through Thursday. 

These positions are part time – The right candidate might teach two classes: for example, a Math class and a Science class daily, for an increase in hours and optimization of good talent.

Class sizes are small (7 students per class) and we offer one-on-one coaching and guidance along with a structured work environment that optimizes learning. 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Additionally, we are looking for a department head on an administrative level, to structure and implement this general studies program.  The candidate will work with the Head of School to create curricula which will conform to State requirements, qualify us for our private school charter, and maintain integrity with the religious teachings and sensitivities of the morning hours.

Should the teacher or head display excellent management and disciplinary skills and work well with the staff, administration and students, we will eventually have a need for a full Secular Studies Principal, a great opportunity and potential for growth as we grow over the coming years.

CANDIDATES SHOULD HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

We are looking for teachers who approach teaching in an interactive, student-centered way and integrate active participation techniques. 

* Bachelor’s degree required

* Teaching experience preferred

* Background check required

* Standard teaching license not required–as a private school our licensing requirements are different than the public schools and we will work with the right candidate to attain appropriate licensing (bachelor’s degree and background check are all that are needed for license)
