Job Description – Board Certified Behavior Analyst

TITLE: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s Degree or higher, Board Certified Behavior Analyst
Certification (Nationally Certified), Certified Ohio Behavior Analyst, must meet BACB Supervision
Requirements or be willing to obtain, three or more years in a job-related field preferred,
exceptional communication skills, and a valid Ohio Department of Education Credential (or be
willing to obtain).

REPORTS TO: Behavioral Health and Mental Wellness Supervisor

JOB SUMMARY: To conduct behavioral assessments, analyze data, interpret
results, design behavior interventions, and provide training and support to school personnel.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Develops and implements appropriate written functional behavior assessments and behavioral
intervention methods for use in familiar/unfamiliar situations and for a range of cases
2. Participates in child study/school teams, provides feedback on behavioral assessments,
interventions, and strategies
3. Provides technical support and in-service training programs for teachers and other staff on
applied behavior analysis including discrete trial training, establishing classroom schedules,
overall classroom management, data collection, and the implementation of specific instructional and
behavioral strategies in the student’s natural environment
4. Consults and provides parent and staff training to support intervention plans at school and in
the home and community
5. Provides regular services reviews to ensure ongoing compliance with implementation of behavior
plans as well as Individual Education Programs and possibly 504 Accommodation Plans
6. Serves as a liaison between school and other agencies
7. Submits data for third-party billing as required
8. Provides programming supervision and support of Board-Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts,
Registered Behavior Technicians and/or Paraprofessionals.
9. Participate in visioning, strategic planning, and service design for HCESC
10. Build strategic alliances and superior relationships with district, HCESC and regional
partners.
11. Assume other responsibilities and duties as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Shall be appointed to a limited contract with the number of work days established by the employment
contract. Salary to be established by the Board.

EVALUATION:
Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the
Board’s evaluation policy.
